Transcript

A unique feature of restless leg syndrome is that it occurs typically only in the evenings. So it’s most likely to occur in the evening and wear off as the night goes on. So restless leg patients are often night owls. They can’t fall asleep at night because their legs bother them so much. And eventually that just kind of burns itself out. And finally they can fall asleep, but it might be one, two, three o’clock in the morning. Some people do have symptoms to occur during the day, but that’s more rare. And so it’s much less likely to occur in the morning and more likely to occur in the evening. And anytime when one’s at rest. So before bed is certainly a common time, but a long flight or a long car drive, or even in the theater, watching a movie symptoms can occur and really bother the person.
