You should clean your wounds. All agents may be gently washed and dabbed dry without disrupting the stitches, glue or tape. You can just use simple soap and water when stitches are removed, depends mostly on the original cut’s location. Since different types of skin have different blood flow and have different healing times, also regions with skin tension or stretching, like the elbows and knees, need longer times to heal. Be careful not to leave them in to long since if stitches remain in place, they could increase the chance of a noticeable scar for the face. Stitches should be removed in five to seven days. Staples or stitches in the scalp should be removed in 10 days. The trunk and upper extremities, including the hands, should have the stitches removed in 10 to 14 days, and generally cuts on the legs need 10 to 20 days to fully heal.
