Neonatal Acne
Neonatal acne is very common. It is not harmful for the baby. It is most common anywhere from 2-6 weeks of age of the infant. It looks like small superficial pustules most commonly on the chin, forehead, and cheeks; sometimes on the neck and upper body. It typically gets better on its own and does not need any treatment. It typically does not leave any scars either as long as it is not picked at. It is thought to be caused by hormones which even out in the first couple weeks of life and the pustules go away.
