Transcript

Symptoms of anaphylaxis can include a red itchy rash with welts or hives, swelling of the mouth, the tongue, or throat, giant swelling of parts of the body, shortness of breath, coughing, wheezing, throat tightness, hoarseness, abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhea. Dizziness, and feeling faint can be signs of anaphylactic shock, when the blood pressure drops to dangerously low levels during severe reactions. Anaphylaxis is always an emergency and requires immediate medical attention. You should work with a board certified allergist and immunologist if you have had an anaphylactic reaction to help investigate the cause and come up with a plan to prevent and treat future reactions.
