Lung cancer may come back or recur, and it has a pretty high rate or a lower rate, depending on the stage. One study found recurrence rates to be about 12.6% for stage one lung cancers, whereas it’s 37.6% for stage two and up to 35 or 40% for stage three. However, recurrence rates also depend on the individual situation, how timely the chemo was and what methods were taken to treat the cancer.
