Epilepsy – Lifestyle Changes

Transcript

For about two thirds of people with epilepsy, their seizures will be well-controlled with one or two anti-seizure medications. You and your doctor may choose to change the medications over time, depending on if you develop side effects or if your epilepsy medication interferes with the medication you are taking for another medical problem. Sometimes, when a person has been seizure-free for several years, they can be taken off their anti-seizure medication and remain seizure-free. You may want to ask your neurologist about this if you have been seizure-free for at least two years.
