Uterine Fibroids – New Treatments

There are a number of new treatments in the horizon to cure or treat fibroids. Right now, they’re not officially approved and may not be covered by your healthcare insurance, but it’s good to talk about them with your gynecologist. One treatment option is called myolysis, where the fibroids may be destroyed and not completely removed. Another treatment option is uterine artery embolization, which can be done by a radiologist. There are other new treatment medications that are being investigated in the future. So it’s good to talk to your OBGYN about what those options are that you have.
