Maintaining a healthy weight is essential in managing these conditions. Eating healthy and regular exercise could help maintain a healthy weight. Studies have shown to improve psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis if you could maintain a healthy weight. This could also decrease your risk of having cardiovascular disease like heart attacks. Taking anti-inflammatory diet is also considered to be helpful. Diet containing high level of omega-3 fatty acid, for example, fish, is also thought to be helpful to lower the inflammation. Olive oil is considered to have an anti-inflammatory compound called oleocanthal, which could help decrease inflammation. Consumption of vegetables is also considered to be anti-inflammatory. In summary, maintaining a healthy weight is helpful in psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. If you are a smoker, you should definitely stop smoking, as it increases your risk of having severe psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.
