In general, cancer survivors are motivated to make favorable lifestyle choices to maintain a healthy body. While on your journey, it’s important to take charge and follow science based recommendations. Avoid misleading or inaccurate advice. For instance, read information, especially on the internet, very closely. Second guess any product that’s described as “breakthrough” or a miracle. Recognize that nutrition and exercise can affect the risk and progression of different cancers in unique ways. Have a healthy skepticism of any easy answers as it relates to health issues. The most beneficial strategy to address any problem can be addressed by overall nutrition, not a single food or supplement. Speaking of supplements, remember to talk to your doctor or another trusted healthcare provider for advice. Before trying a new supplement, your doctor can inform you of any drug interactions that can make treatment less effective.
