Dr. Stuart is a Board Certified Gastroenterologist with more than three decades of experience in private practice. He began his journey in medicine growing up in New York, where he developed a passion for healthcare early on. After graduating from SUNY Upstate Medical Center, Dr. Stuart completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. His dedication and expertise in gastroenterology have been the cornerstone of his long-standing private practice in California. He has held numerous leadership, educational, research, and volunteer roles including Chief of Staff, Chief of Medicine, Councilor to Santa Clara County Medical Society, Assistant Clinical Professor at Stanford Medical School, Expert Medical Reviewer for the Medical Board of California, as well as a Principle Investigator for clinical trials.
In 2019, Dr. Stuart expanded his professional scope by becoming a medical director of a community hospice. He furthered his education by completing a Master’s degree in Hospice and Palliative Care from the University of Maryland and achieved Hospice Medical Director Board Certification. His commitment to enhancing patient care led him to establish and direct the Palliative Care program at a community hospital within the Santa Clara County Health System.
From his experience as a hospice physician, Dr. Stuart realized that informal caregivers are often ill-prepared for their new role. This insight prompted him to start Partner for Care, a web-based informational resource designed to support informal caregivers of patients in hospice care.
Dr. Stuart's contributions to both Gastroenterology, Palliative Care, and Hospice highlight his comprehensive approach to patient wellness and his dedication to improving quality of life for all his patients. His innovative approach in creating Partner for Care demonstrates his commitment to extending support and education to those caring for loved ones in their final stages of life.
