Dr. Ron Clark graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch School of Medicine in 1986 and then completed a 5 year residency in orthopedic surgery at the same institution in Galveston, Texas. He then spent 6 months acquiring additional experience in knee and shoulder procedures with E. Marlowe Goble, MD in Logan, Utah. With Dr. Goble, a new method of knee ligament fixation was developed using a surgical pin that secured the replacement ligament into the bone with greater security than was otherwise available at that time. Since that time Dr. Clark has been looking for new ways to improve care to his patients through research and testing of novel devices. In 2006 he founded Valpo Orthopedic Technology in Valparaiso, Indiana and invented a partial knee replacement that could be inserted through an incision of under 2 inches. While over 150 patients benefited from this device the company did not survive a competitive commercial environment and no longer exists. Dr. Clark has been practicing orthopedic surgery for over 29 years and now works and lives along the Arizona, California, and Mexico borders where he cares for those with bone, muscle, and joint disorders.
