Pain Management
Transcript
A huge component of palliative care is palliating the pain that may be experienced with cancer. And there’s a lot of modalities we can use to hopefully help the pain that’s caused by that cancer lesion.
One of those examples is what we call stereotactic radiation, where over a couple of days, or even just a couple of doses, deliver radiation to that lesion that causes the most pain.
Also, there’s all kinds of analgesics or pain control medications we can use. Opiates are some, but there’s also other medications that have been shown to help that day-to-day pain. Things are being studied like THC and tinctures, which can help with generalized pain control as well as increase your appetite.
