Today we’re going to talk about testicular cancer. Cancer in general is uncontrolled cell growth. The cell is the basic building block of any part of the body. So if a cell in the testicle becomes cancerous and starts to grow out of control, and forms a tumor of the testicle, that’s testicular cancer.

It’s important to understand – what are the testicles? The testicles are part of the male reproductive system. There’s two testicles that live in a sack of skin called the scrotum, as part of the external genitalia. The testicles have two functions: one is hormonal, manufacture the male hormone testosterone, the other is to generate sperm.

Testicular cancer is not very common but it is one of cancer’s most incredible success stories. The cure rates are extremely high.
