Dr Brittany Lauren Brand Poinson, MD, MS Ed is a board-certified Neurologist with special qualifications in Child Neurology. Armed with her unique skillset and her passion for sports-related health, Dr Poinson has experience specializing in sports neurology with post-traumatic headache treatment, including occipital nerve blocks for occipital neuralgia. She’s committed to providing her patients with the latest insights and treatments for a wide range of neurological issues, including general child neurology.
Dr. Poinson merged her interests in neurology and sports when she completed her fellowship at LifeBridge Health in Baltimore, MD. Now one of the leading voices in concussion and post-traumatic headache treatment, Dr Poinson has a keen interest in helping people understand the impact of neurological injuries. Along with educating her patients, she dedicates time for mentorship for women interested in medicine and sciences.
Born and raised in the sunny state of California, Dr Poinson completed her education at the University of Miami, Florida, and earned her Doctor of Medicine at Howard University College of Medicine, Washington, DC. She also earned her Pediatric Residency at the University of Florida at Orlando Health and her Pediatric Neurology Residency at the LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, LA.
