He has also studied the importance of component positioning in shoulder replacement surgery and is currently using state-of-the-art 3-D printing technology to plan his shoulder replacement procedures. Dr. Mesiha is considered by U.S. News & World Report to be an experienced, high volume surgeon for both rotator cuff repairs and shoulder replacement procedures.
In addition to his commitment to keeping up with the latest techniques in shoulder surgery, Dr. Mesiha is committed to informing his patients in detail about their nonsurgical treatment options. One of his ongoing shared decision making initiatives has been to develop a database that keeps track of patient expectations before surgery, so that there is clear communication about what his patients should and should not expect from an operation.
Dr. Mesiha has authored over a dozen academic papers in the orthopedic literature and has given numerous presentations to his peers at local and national orthopedic meetings. He currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, the American Journal of Sports Medicine and the Journal of Clinical Biomechanics. Dr. Mesiha was a member of Coastal Orthopaedics in Fall River before joining Prima CARE.
