He was awarded the Tufts University Excellence in Teaching award during this time. Post-residency, Dr. Kandalaft was invited to join Yale New Haven Hospital as an Attending Hospitalist specializing in Internal Medicine & Diagnostics. While at Yale New Haven Hospital, Dr. Kandalaft was working on the front lines with his colleagues during the COVID-19 pandemic, examining and providing care to affected patients. During the pandemic, time was spent collaborating with specialists, contributing to the collective knowledge on this novel disease.

Within the institution, he was promoted to a Unit Medical Director and the Co-Deputy Director of Quality Improvement for the Hospitalist Division. He engaged in multiple teaching activities with physician assistants, nurse practitioners and medical students, and was eventually promoted to Assistant Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at Yale University School of Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Kandalaft has published multiple papers focused on Cardiovascular, Respiratory, Infectious and Autoimmune conditions, and shares a particular interest in hemodynamics, rare diseases & conditions and quality improvement.

Currently, Dr. Kandalaft has founded a novel primary care practice model focused on providing Direct Patient Care. His clinic, Prestige Medical Concierge provides at-home primary care, where Dr. Kandalaft and his team refocus medicine to the patient; focusing on quality care, as opposed to quantitative care. He is currently attempting to redefine the medical space by expanding this primary care model to deliver quality care back to the sickest of patients, by increasing time spent with each patient and accessibility to their provider.

Dr. Kandalaft believes in connectivity with his patients, which has been facilitated by his background of having been raised in Jordan in the Middle East, training and living in Dublin, Ireland for 6 years, and practicing medicine in the Northeast US for close to a decade. His background has afforded a growth in his cultural experiences and abilities to identify with patients from different backgrounds. This has allowed Dr. Kandalaft the opportunity to learn multiple languages and achieve fluency in English, Arabic and Spanish and currently developing his skills in Russian.
