Acne – Prevention

Whether or not you are at an elevated risk for developing acne, there are some precautions you can take. Of course, these steps are doubly important if your parents were acne prone. Make it a habit to cleanse twice daily, moisturize your skin with a non oily moisturizer, and if you wear makeup, wear makeup that’s designed not to block pores. If you have long hair, make sure your products don’t leave an oily residue on your skin when your hair brushes against it. Keeping your hands away from your face can also help, as does reducing stress levels. Regular exercise can reduce breakouts, just don’t forget to change into clean, un-sweaty clothes immediately after working out.
