Balloon Sinuplasty – Not a Candidate

Transcript

Some patients with chronic sinusitis are not necessarily candidates for a minimally invasive balloon sinuplasty. Patients with severe disease or patients that have significant tissue within the sinuses that need to be removed will require more traditional surgery under general anesthesia. If you happen to have a cyst or polyps within the sinus, or if you have fungus in the sinus, most likely you’re not just going to have a sinus dilation, you’re going to have more traditional surgery. Patients with severe anxiety may not tolerate an office procedure as well.
