Blepharoplasty – Post-Surgery

share

Transcript

In the days after your surgery, your eyelids may feel puffy or numb, and you may notice increased sensitivity to light. Your eyes may water more than usual. In almost all cases, these symptoms are temporary and will disappear within a short time. Recovery from blepharoplasty can be pretty quick. Typically, most patients return to normal activities within 10 days of surgery, sometimes sooner. You’ll usually have some mild bruising and swelling in the days after your surgery. Cool gel packs applied to the eyes can help. Your doctor may also prescribe you some oral pain medications to help with any discomfort, and an ointment or drops to stop any dryness. Results of the surgery should be able to see an as soon as the swelling goes down. While blepharoplasty, like all cosmetic surgery, cannot stop the aging process, patients will benefit from the results of the procedure for years and maybe even decades post-surgery.
