BPH, it’s just part of the aging prostate. The prostate, again, responds differently to testosterone as it ages and is hormonally mediated. We don’t understand all the specifics of it, but there’s really nothing you can do to prevent the development of BPH. Now, there are treatments available to deal with the symptoms associated with BPH, ranging from medical therapy to minimally invasive office type procedures to procedures that require anesthesia and are usually done in a hospital or an ambulatory surgical center.
