So patients will come and ask me, “Am I a candidate for autologous reconstruction? “And the reality of this is, is that obviously we need donor tissue to be able to do the reconstruction. As our size goes up, though, with this tissue, our complication rates can go up. The best way to know that if you are a candidate for this type of reconstruction or not is to be examined by a board certified plastic surgeon, to have them take a look and see if you would be a good candidate.
