One of the common questions I see too, is when does a plastic surgeon get involved in the care? Commonly when I see patients, they’ve seen a medical oncologist or radiation oncologist, the surgical oncologist… And the plastic surgeon’s role is to coordinate with the surgical oncologist to develop a plan which will be oncologically safe to remove the cancer that needs to be removed, but also to provide the best cosmetic results possible.
