In addition to the three pressers I just mentioned, dopamine, dobutamine and milrinone, sometimes adrenaline and norepinephrine are used to raise blood pressure. Aspirin is used to inhibit platelets, either aspirin-like medications such as Plavix, Brilinta, and Effient are used. Sometimes, IV medications called 2b3a inhibitors are used to reduce clotting. Always, heparin is given for patients to reduce provocation of a clot. And then statins are used to lower cholesterol.
