So the next question patients have is, what stage am I? Well, that is determined by several features. The size of your tumor or in the case of colon cancer, how deep through your bowel has the cancer grown? Is it in the superficial layer of the inside of the bowel or has it grown deeper into areas of fat or muscle tissue? That is what is determined by the “T” or tumor size of your tumor.
