The common cold really can’t be cured, the common cold cures itself in the sense that a virus will most of the time not be able to be treated. However, it resolves itself. The immune system of the body kicks in and the cold resolves. The people or the patients who will catch a cold, and it’s going to be a problem, is a very young infant who is very uncomfortable or may be more susceptible to secondary infection, and elderly people who are infirm, bedridden. They will be more prone to secondary infection. People or children who have asthma, chronic lung disease in adults, or some underlying condition where you can’t fight infection very well. Or there are certain conditions where you can’t clear bacteria very well or mucous very well from your respiratory tract. A child or teenager who has a condition called cystic fibrosis, if they start getting respiratory viruses, they’re in a little bit more trouble than a immunocompetent, otherwise healthy adult or child.
