The goal of COVID vaccines in particular is to really prevent us from really suffering from a lot of the severe manifestations. The goal is really for all of us to adopt herd immunity so that the infection is not rampant. And we know the results of the vaccine prevents many patients from becoming seriously ill, such as on a ventilator or even dying from COVID infection. The fear of these unknown vaccines is well-known and alive, but really the potential is death, which is worse than what we would think.
