Usually, the diagnosing doctor would be involved in the treatment. Sometimes a specialist such as a pulmonologist or a cardiologist, depending on who you see first. Other times, you might need to see what we call a hematologist or a specialist in coagulation that might help diagnose what the potential risk factor might be for developing the clot in the first place.
