Dupuytrens – Associated Conditions

As opposed to many of the things that we treat in medicine, there do not appear to be other associated conditions that predispose people to developing Dupuytren’s contracture. It’s simply a genetic condition in patients who have a family history. Other medical problems, medications people may be taking, activities, either at work or at home, and lifestyles such as diet, exercise, alcohol intake do not appear to affect the presence or the progression of Dupuytren’s disease. It’s simply a genetic condition.
