Gene therapy is under rigorous evaluation by researchers, developers, regulators, and other officials all converging to try to understand all the different aspects of safety when you inject DNA material into cells. This was the original problem. Was being able to safely and stably inject DNA material into cells. Caused a lot of technical difficulty that took many, many years to solve. However, now we’re largely past that problem, and are onto the problem of the duration of effect or durability and trying to prevent as many unintended effects or consequences as possible.
