This is an example of what a knee replacement looks like. This is the femoral component. That is the part that attaches to the distal femur. And the back of this femur has porosities, almost like the surface of the moon. These porosities are made in a size where the bone grows into the prosthesis. And in that way, this becomes part of your body. This is the femoral component.
