The T component describes the characteristics of the tumor itself. So the size of the tumor, whether it’s invading any lymphovascular structures, whether it’s invading the pleural surface, which is sort of the sac that the lung sits in. Those all will affect the T stage. And again, the T the N and the M together will determine the overall stage of the cancer.
