Another useful thing to do is to use a saline irrigation. You’ve probably heard of a neti pot, but any high volume irrigation in your nose can be very helpful. And the way this works is it stimulates your sinuses and your nasal cavity to clear more of the mucus and the contents out of the sinuses, by stimulating the small, tiny hair cells that line your nose and your sinuses to clear their contents better. And it also mechanically flushes some of the mucus and pus and whatever else is building up in your sinuses to help your body more effectively fight the infection and get over the inflammatory process.
