Spinal Nerve Decompression Surgery – Recovery Period

Transcript

Recovery time depends on the procedure. Spinal nerve decompression surgery performed through a discectomy, foraminotomy or laminotomies are very small procedures that are same day with minimal recovery, and most patients can return to work whenever they feel comfortable, which is typically within one to two weeks. Aches and pains from the procedure are typically minimal. In larger type procedures, such as a laminectomy, for instance, would have a longer recovery process, but also this is done through a less invasive approach. The procedure can sometimes be a same day procedure as well.
