Different kinds of tonsillitis include those that are acute tonsillitis as well as chronic tonsillitis. And then there’s something called viral tonsillitis. Now most infections will go away if given the opportunity by themselves, but sometimes the symptoms stay around much longer. And when they come in over a week, what happens is it’s called chronic tonsillitis. Now there’s an acute tonsillitis, where you get repeated attacks of tonsillitis over a period of time.
