Vaginal Cancer – Pre Cancerous Cells

Vaginal cancer usually develops slowly. It takes several years sometimes. The development of vaginal cancer actually begins with the formation of precancer cells. The precancerous cells are cells that are abnormal, that haven’t invaded the surrounding tissue in the vagina. And these types of cells are called vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia or VAIN. They’re sometimes also called dysplasia. It is important to treat precancerous conditions in order to prevent the development of cancer.
